Safe baby detergent recommendations?

First time mom.. what type of detergent should I use to wash my baby’s clothes ?

Dreft is SOOOOOOOOO EXPENSIVE. My sister already had her baby (her baby has SENSITIVE skin) and she uses ALL free and clear.  Much cheaper for a bigger bottle. And her baby has been doing great with it, even with her super sensitive skin!

The kind you normally use. Unless baby has a reaction, there is zero reason to switch detergeants. Your baby will still be exposed to all detergeant you usez even if you wash separately.

I use seventh generation. I wouldn’t use dreft like people recommend it has fragrance in it as an ingredient and that is not good on sensitive skin. 
There is an app called “think dirty” that rates products according to how ‘clean’ and free of chemicals they are (on a scale of 0-10) and explains why it got such a rating. The higher the number the worse it is.

Technically anything that’s “free and clear” is fine for newborn skin. That being said, many of them are still considered toxic (including Dreft, All, Tide, Kirkland, and many other popular brands), so if you want to play it really safe go for a natural, plant-based detergent with simple nontoxic ingredients. I love Biokleen because it’s a decent price, it cleans very well, it’s available in cardboard containers or plastic (less plastic =better for the environment), and it has an “A” rating on EWG for nontoxic ingredients that won’t cause cancer, asthma, or reproductive issues. Molly’s Suds is another great option, but I like Biokleen a little more for its cleaning abilities.
