Can you hear spirits?

My neighbor was in my house one day this week visiting me. That afternoon she got a call from her mom about her brother girlfriend passing away that morning from a blood clot to her lungs. She was smoker and possibly had heart problems! She was 44 years old. Anyway I had opened my sliding door to my apartment because it was hot in my house and plus it was bright sunny. So I was going through my son clothes that he couldn't wear anymore.

My neighbor was playing on her phone. She said she heard a woman voice at my coffee table then heard a noise in the other bedroom. So I look at her rolling my eyes and thinking she's is just crazy!! I didn't even sleep a wink that night and my neighbor had the nerve to tell me i didn't have the gift to hear spirits.

My mother in law aunt who passed away last year. My mother in law uncle said he heard his wife voice called his name two days after she passed away. He said the dogs started barking then he heard it. 

So tell me! Is this all true about spirits? I know we have spirits all around us but what about that particular one? 

I am very nervous right now since they say when you do hear spirits that its a warning of somekind. My anxiety is getting the best of me!!! Prayers please!
