I was so sad that he said that to me Friday

I would do just that...my husband told me to shut up one time and i didn't talk to his ass for days...drove him crazy and when i finally said something it was me cussing him tf out...he hasn't said it since 💀

Okay you need to add context because if you were arguing or having a go at him or moaning or just talking too much then I wouldnt be bothered 😂 
If he said it when you were just having a normal conversation then I'd be a little bit more annoyed 🤷‍♀️

Well holding onto things and then consulting strangers on the internet won't really help you. I tell my husband to shut up all the time, but it's in a playful context.

yeah I'm gonna need more details. if you were nagging and he asked you to be quiet many times and you are just getting on his nerves then you should have listened before escalating the situation. if you just said something and he was rude an said shut up I'd speak my mind.

I would be very hurt because he’s never talked to me like that. Never called me a name or put me down. Even when mad or an argument. We would be having a very serious talk and if it continued, we wouldn’t be continuing together because that’s not how you treat someone. Especially your partner!!

Assuming this is a one time occurance, I'd probably say 'um, what the hell did you just say to me? Maybe you need some time to rethink how to treat your wife' and then I'd either step out of the house for a while to cool down, or as him to leave for a while depending on my mood
