Can a ovulation test detect pregnancy?

So my period is 2 days late, and I didn’t have a pregnancy test so I took a ovulation test. It was highly positive. What does this mean? Should I go get a pregnancy test? 
We have been trying for a long time and I don’t wanna get my hopes up. Thanks in advance.

Some women get an LH surge around the time their period is due so this isn’t a reliable indicator. Get a dollar store test and give it a shot. Good luck

I would grab a test incase! Women do get a surge before their period ￼ but idk if its a good enough surge for one that dark. Update us!
