How many eggs ?

I’m 36 and we’re hoping to do our first egg retrieval soon, then transfer before I turn 37. We have already talked about having another baby after this one, so we’re hoping that we’ll get enough eggs to freeze for later when I’m 38 or 39. 
I’m just curious how many eggs are usually retrieved at my age, and how many embryos? Does anyone have experience with this if you’re close to my age?

I saw that someone else said they had 30 but that’s definitely not the norm, not even if you were 22. Of course some women get really high egg counts but I just don’t want you to have those expectations going in. 
My doctor told me (I’m 28) that our goal was 10, but that any number let us move forward in the process. We ended up with 11 eggs, 9 were mature, 7 fertilized with ICSI, and 3 made it to day 5 blast. Even 11 from what I’ve read and seen was a lot. It can range anywhere from 1-30+ and is dependent on many factors.

I’m a bit younger than you (30) but these were my numbers:
21 eggs retrieved
17 fertilized
12 blastocysts
7 PGS normal

I am 34 with a low AMH and my first cycle I only got 3 eggs and none made it to blasts. My 2nd cycle I got 5 eggs and 2 made it to blasts.

Usually you get about 1-2 good quality blastocysts out of 10 eggs. But that’s just very general statistics. There are IVF success calculators online you can use. Ask your doctor for an assessment as well. Ultimately, it depends on various factors and you only know after. Also quantity is not quality. It might also depend on reasons for IVF. I had 30 eggs retrieved at that age. 5 made it to blast and my first transfer worked and she is a month old now. Have 4 left for second baby. Good luck!

Keep in mind that it’s quality over quantity. Yes, you want a decent number but it only takes one healthy embryo. I know women who have had 27 eggs collected and only ended up with 4 that made it to freeze and women who have had 10 embryos and the same number made it to freeze. Everyone is different 😊

I'm 32 MFI got 10 eggs, 7 mature ones  fertilized by ICSI & 6 made it to blastocysts.. Going for my 3rd Transfer on Saturday best of luck with everything 🤞
