Our beautiful yet scary birth story.

Samm

I thought I’d share since I’ve seen a lot of posts lately about birth stories and mine isn’t as scary as the other ones but it was scary for us. January 8th I was set to be induced which did happen. I got there at 8:30 am. They started pitocin at 9:30am. I started to feel intense contractions at 10:30 and decided to get the epidural. Which they had to reposition 5 times because every time she would shove it in further it would make my right leg jolt. At that time I was only dilated to a 4 which I have been for weeks. Skipping forward to 3:40 pm she comes to check me and I’m at a 6 but I can feel everything on my left side. So she brings in a peanut ball and moves me to my left side (she claimed it was to help numb my left side) not even 7 minutes later I’m calling her in because I’m feeling lots of pressure. She checks me again and I’m at a 10. In 10 minutes I went from a 6 to a 10. She calls in my doctor and starts getting prepped, 3 minutes later he comes in getting ready and he says “her head is literally right there, she has hair and in one push she will be out.” That was a understatement. By 3:48 pm on January 8th I had my baby girl in one push. But her comes the scary part. She was taken to the base to get checked and wiped off but her oxygen along with her heart rate went down. Here comes like 10 nurses coming to look at her while I have NO IDEA what’s going on and no one would tell me. And it was that serious that no one cleaned me up until they were gonna take her to NICU. They took her to NICU finally told me what was wrong and then ended up sending her back to me within 20 minutes and said her levels look fine now. Because she was out in one push it stunned her causing her heart rate and oxygen to decrease. She’s now a week old and healthy as can be. 💖😍
