Marriage at 18-21?

How do y’all feel about marrying at 18-21? If any of y’all got married that young how’s it going ?

Got married a week after I turned 22, and a month before his 22nd birthday. No regrets whatsoever. We’ve had our ups and downs, but I look forward to coming home to him each and every day. There’s not a day that passes that I don’t think about how grateful I am. I love waking up to my best friend every morning. It really depends on the couple though. I’ve seen a lot of young marriages not work out. But I think it’s because people don’t stay to work on things. Or they give up too easily. My husband can be the biggest pain my ass sometimes lol. But since being with him, life feels like it has a whole new meaning. I love him so much.

Now we’re 22/24 and fostering a child, trying for a biological child, and i still genuinely like him
But i don’t think getting married young is a great idea for most people! It did NOT work out for most other young couples i know.

My husband and I got married at 20. I had a lot of people straight up make fun of me for getting married that young. I didn’t let it bother me. If you are sure about the person and willing to grow and work on your relationship for the rest of your life, it doesn’t matter if you are 20 or 120, you can make the marriage a good one.

my 1st marriage was at 18, after dating for 5 years. we were never really right for each other, just 2 broken people with a lot of baggage. as I grew into adulthood, he didnt. he stayed stuck. i tried everything I could to pull him outta that dark place. but after awhile I just knew we were both miserable. we split up and divorced 3 years into our marriage and ended an 8 year relationship. it was the best thing we ever did. we both are now remarried and doing great. my husband now is the best thing that ever happened to me. we met and got married quickly because I knew that time under your relationship belt doesnt make the difference. its the people. if you have 2 people who make each other happy and are willing to work through things that's all you really need! I'm only 25 with a lot of life experience and all I can say is that I learned so much about love and myself from age 18-22. the MOST formative years I've lived so far. I know that's gonna change once we have kids though. very excited for that chapter. :)

I've known my husband since we were 12 and in middle school. We were only friends throughout school, and didn't start dating until after highschool when we were 17 (our 18th birthdays fell after our hs graduations). We were only dating for 6 months when we got engaged at 18, and we got married at 19. We are both 21 now and everything has been going great. I love my husband, he loves me, my family loves him, his family loves me, and both our families get along well with each other. We have even started ttc now that we have a savings built up, our very own house, 2 cars, and feel stable enough to do so. Regardless of whether you're 18, 21, 29 or any other age, when you get married, it will only work if you both want it to and put forth the effort to make it work. Marriage is a commitment to being there for someone else, to someone you love, to someone who makes time feel like its flying. A lot of statistics are against younger married couples, but if both want it, and can put forth the effort to the marriage, it can be done. As another example, my parents met at 20 years old (dad) and 19 years old (mom), and got married 3 months later. 29 years and 4 kids later they are still together and going strong.

Met when we were 18/20 got married at 22/24 and so far so good. I think it depends on the people and the experiences you have during your relationship.

Got married at 19, he was 18 (7m younger than me). And we got married a week before his senior prom 😂. 
7 1/2 yrs later, on baby #3. It just gets better ❤️
Definitely depends on the people. It was REALLY hard for us but we WORKED at it.
He was a boy, I was a girl, now we're man and woman. There was a lot that happened in that transition, it was both awesome and terrible to grow together. 
But I'm stoked. When we're 40, we'll be married for 20yrs and almost be empty nesters. While everyone else will still be in the throes of parenting we'll be cruising hahahahaha I seriously love it ,❤️👍👍

I got married two months after I turned 18. Now im 22 and almost 5 years of marriage. It may not be a lot but I know we can ride this wave. But getting married so young is not for everyone

Got married at 19,  now almost 24 and happy as ever. Definitely don’t regret it. We’ve had some rough patches but wouldn’t trade him for the world.
