She’s here!!

Back story:

In 2017 I fell pregnant with a little boy. At our 12 week scan we found out that he wasn’t going to survive and we made the heartbreaking decision to terminate. I then had two first trimester miscarriages over the next two years and battled with anorexia.

I got married in November 2018. We fell pregnant again but lost that baby in March 2019. By the 10th of May I was pregnant again. I wasn’t ready. There was no joy and I remember thinking ‘i can’t do this again’.

Well I’m here to say never give up!!

I went in to be induced at 5pm on the 18th of January at 39+3. I was 1cm dilated and 2.5cm long. Had the balloon put in at 6pm and taken out at 6am the next day. I was 2cm dilated but still 2.5cm long. Had a couple of bloody shows and they broke my waters at 8am. Gave my body a chance to start contracting naturally but nothing happened so started the Pitocin drip at 11:20 and was having intense back to back contractions by 2pm. Little miss was sunny side up and the pain was unbearable. Got checked but was only 3cm and 1cm long so I opted for the epidural around 3:30-4. Progressed to 7.5cm in 4 hours and then to 10cm in the next three hours. We waited an hour after full dilation for bubs to move down further and I started pushing at 11:30pm. 14 minutes later my daughter was born (on my sisters birthday) She was quite stunned by the quick delivery and needed some oxygen and a little time in special care nursery before being returned to me less than 45 minutes later whilst I was being stitched up (3 2nd degree tears) I am still shocked at how quickly she burst into the world but am so in love.
