Why most of us women detach from our partner mentally and emotionally BEFORE we detach from them physically????? 
I am going through that & I was with this person for 4 years but I guess all the bs, abuse and shit that i went through made me stop loving him long time ago and right now I dont even feel like I miss him or anything... THAAAANKS GOD! 🙌🏽

I’ve not been in this situation with a romantic partner, but I’d imagine it’s because most people don’t have a single moment of clarity, but an ongoing series of disappointments and dissatisfaction. Without healthy communication, that shit festers. 
I have felt this in platonic friendships in real life. I feel like that’s more difficult in some ways since there’s no formal break up process in most cases. 
Also, this seems unnecessarily gendered. Plenty of men do the same.

That's how it was when I finally ended it with my ex. I cried all my tears for what might have been, not even for him really, long before I ended the relationship. He turned out to be truly awful and the love that was there in the beginning turned into a prison. I ended it, gave back everything he ever gave me, and never looked back. Three months later I met my husband and six months later we were engaged. No regrets. Leaving my ex was like stepping into pure sunshine after being caged in the dark for a year.

It's not just women. 
I think people do what you are describing, whether it's an abusive relationship or not, is because its simply EASIER. Its easier to live your life day to day as you have been, its easier to keep going with your known routine. Making yourself live differently is hard. This is also why a lot of people simply dont like change. Its more effort.
