Is it normal I feel jealous of my daughter looking up to / loving other people?

especially women.  For example a teacher, care provider or my mil?  Incase she sees them in a maternal way?
It’s silly but I just feel like I could be replaceable.  It’s not an overbearing feeling, but it’s something that is on my mind sometimes.

I feel like this is a normal feeling. I’m not a mom yet but I can provide some insight from a daughters perspective that may help you be more comfortable. When I was little my mom couldn’t take time off work so my neighbor started watching me when I was 2 days old up until I was 4years old and we moved. Since I’d spent so much time with her over the years (I stayed with her even in the evenings when my parents were fighting) she stayed in touch and even though I lived in another state I’d visit her 2 times a year and she would come see me for things like school plays and such. I still consider her a second mom and I look up to her a lot and I know it must have been hard on my mom to share me with another woman but my mom allowed me to have her in my life as another support and I’m so grateful for that. I talk to my mom a lot about it now as an adult to let her know how appreciative I am for what she did and I tell her that she had always been my “favorite mom” no one could ever replace her. You will always be your daughters mom, it doesnt matter how many other women are around no one can fill the role you perform. Having other women around will just help your daughter be more confident and comfortable in who she wants to be, which may be different than how you are, and that’s not a bad thing.  I can’t pretend to know how you’re feeling but its good that you are aware and open about it and that alone shows how much you care about your daughter.

I mean, I love my village, I love that my son gets soooooo excited to see his “auntie yes” (auntie Jess lol) and runs to her for a huge hug. I think it’s wonderful to have other adults that love and support your child and that they feel safe with 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m his mama and our love is different!

It has never bothered me. I love it when my children form bonds with other adults. It is comforting to me that they are loved and cared for by friends and family. I know I'm their mother and I'm secure in my position in their lives and in their hearts.

I think it’s normal. But maybe it doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad thing. At least there are positive role models in her life that she can look/speak to. It’s harder when you’re a working mom because you have to rely on other people to be responsible for your child but you’re mom! I’m sure she loves you more. Don’t worry.
