Sleep training ... help!
***Thank you all for taking the time to read my post and for your help ♥️ makes me feel so much better. ***
Hello awesome mamas!
My son had his shots yesterday and somehow the nurse ended up talking to us about sleep. She told us that babies are able to self soothe and put themselves to sleep (which I already knew) and that what I’m doing with my little one is not a healthy sleep habit. My kiddo likes to fall asleep in my arms. I’ve tried many times putting him in his bassinet & crib while he’s drowsy, but he ends up being fully awake after 5 mins.... and if I let him there for 15 mins or so, he ends up crying and jst more awake... whether it’s for a nap or at night. It’s jst doesn’t work. I’m absolutely against the “let him cry it out” for infants, but she was telling us that’s what we should do and nothing will happen to him. And of course, my husband loved this, because he always tells me I’m too soft and I should let the kid cry.
I just don’t know how I feel about this and what to do? I guess my question is, how did you train your babies? Did you let them cry until they learned how to sleep by themselves?
I tried it again this morning for his nap. Put him in his crib 20 mins ago and he was very sleepy, he is currently fully awake and playing.
I’m lost.
