Why the change in ovulation date at 8DPO?

Amy • Biz owner, was a teen mom to a now 18 year old 🩷. Baby #2 was a 5 week NICU warrior born @ 34 weeks in August 2020 💙. Baby #3 born at 33+2 in June 2023, currently in NICU 🩷

So from the very beginning of this cycle my confirmed ovulation date on FF did not line up with my OPKs or my CM. Glow and Premom both said that I ovulated on CD14, but despite having identical data, FF said I ovulated CD13. It absolutely refused to sync up with Glow and Premom. Today, at 8DPO (would have been 9DPO according to FF) after I entered my bbt it gave me this message and change my ovulation date to be in sync with Glow and Premom.

I know these apps will take data and adjust their predictions as your cycle goes along. I removed today’s bbt from FF and it reverted ovulation back to CD13, so today’s temperature is what initiated the change. I re-entered today’s temp and it moved ovulation day to CD14 again.

My question is, at 8DPO why does my temperature all of a sudden trigger this change in ovulation date? Arwmt I far enough removed from ovulation that today’s temp shouldn’t affect the prediction?

That’s a good question...I listened to a podcast and a fertility doctor explained it. But that’s interesting if you see it happen every month. And I hear you, it’s so hard to be patient! I drive myself crazy I swear why do we do this to ourselves lol. Hope you get your BFP soon!! 🙏🏻

Really? What would be the cause? I have a dip almost every month around 7/8dpo, so at this point my chart doesn’t look any different than any other month... but I know it’s still early. Thought I saw a pink squinter midday yesterday on FRER but this morning’s test with FMU is totally negative. Not going to waste any more tests, I don’t know what I was thinking.
