Co-parenting or re-uniting?

I've been seeing this guy for some time now. He's told me he has no formal custody arrangement, he has a good co-parenting relationship and open access to his child. It seemed recently that he wasn't seeing his child and I suspected a fight between them. This past week, he's finally back in the habit of seeing his child again, which is great, i know being seperated hurt.

Today he announced that's he's going on a trip in a few months with the mother of his child and his child. He also tells me(after I ask) that the three of them are visiting family this weekend. I have a feeling he may get back together with her, even though he told me he had no intention of it. Anyone have any experience with this?
