Should you bleach your diapers every so often?

New at cloth diapering.

I never have and have been using them for a year. If you are having issues with staining or things not getting clean then look at the hardness of your water or consider switching detergents. I have had a few stains (totally clean otherwise) and I just laid them in the sun for a few hours and they are good as new!

You shouldn't need to unless doing a strip and sanitize for second hand nappies or if they've previously been washed poorly.
You also shouldn't have ammonia buildup with a good enough wash routine.

Bleach is harsh on diapers so only used when necessary like yeast rash or if you have to strip. Vinegar also should not be used as it’s bad for elastics and your machine.

I use a vinegar soak occasionally for ammonia build up, but never bleach. If it's for strains I put them in the son
