Hmmmm I'd say get in a position that's comfortable for you and your boyfriend. You can try sitting on top of him with each knee on his side and move back and forth either while propped up or lean over towards him with your hands supporting you on each side of his head. I find that my husband likes it a lot when I just bounce my booty up and down without moving back and forth, minimizing the movements. You can also try the same thing but with your back facing him and leaning over towards his legs so he has a good view of your booty.

i just put my hands on his shoulders or his abs (wherever he feels it won't hurt when i lean on my hands for balance) and i basically do a slower wider twerk on him then go faster as i find a rhythm

Try to anchor down as much as you can to start and use your knees to push yourself up and bounce on it to put it as blunt as possible, it definitely takes leg strength so exercising those leg muscles will help💪.
