Is getting the flu shot REALLY safe during pregnancy?

Just found out today that BOTH of my kids have the flu 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ now normally I wouldn’t freak, but I am 5 weeks pregnant and super nervous about getting sick so early in my pregnancy. My Dr told me to get my flu shot (and I will) but has anyone ever gotten while pregnant? They say it’s 100% safe... but you never know..

Well, it's too late as far as possible catching it from your kids goes. Getting the flu shot doesn't give you instant immunity, it takes a couple of weeks. This is why you should just get it at the beginning of flu season. But yes it's safe & recommended.

I got mine just a couple days ago. The flu can be deadly, especially when your immune system is compromised (like when you're pregnant). That's why it's recommended during pregnancy.

The flu has killed more people than both world wars combined. During pregnancy you’re especially vulnerable. Getting the flu shot won’t guarantee you don’t get the flu, but it does protect you and makes symptoms way less if you were to still get it. It can take a few weeks after the shot to truly have that immunity in place tho so getting it now won’t help you necessarily with your other kids already having it. But I’d still 100% recommend it

On the insert and fda website it states its never been tested on pregnant women. So safe? Who actually knows if its safe if theres no studies.

Yep I did, it’s the only way to protect your baby once they are born, there’s no way I’d be risking my new little baby getting the flu.
