Question about nippt

So I’m having the genetic test done on Thursday the 30 and I’m just curious about what happens and also if the gender test is done within the blood test at no extra cost ? Really don’t wanna wait till 20 weeks but if I have to then that’s okay just a general idea of what happens would help
