So I’ve been with my company about 1.5 years.

Recently was promoted. I’m one of the strongest and most devoted employees. I told my boss last week that I was pregnant but reassured him that I would continue the same work load and that I would be back full time after 12 months (I’m in Canada). His reaction really upset me. He had this huge look of disappointment and was quiet and almost talking down to me. One of the first things he said to me was that now he was not going to give me x,y,z since I’m leaving. He’s been quiet with me and definitely treating me differently. At first, I felt bad and felt as though I let him down. And now, I’m just pissed. Why, as I woman, should I feel embarrassed? Unworthy? Any sort of mistreatment because I want to grow my family? My husband doesn’t have to deal with this at work. He was congratulated and life went on. I have lost so much respect for my boss that I almost debate finding a new job after I get back. Anyone else deal with this? It’s so frustrating.
