Is labor hereditary?

I’ve heard multiple times that labor can be hereditary. Did anyone find that yours was similar to your moms? I sure hope it’s true because my mom has very easy labors with all 3 kids! She didn’t even know she was in labor with my brother, and it took just one push for me to come out. Only thing that scares me is she was too late to have an epidural with me but she somehow lied about something and was still able to get it lol

My first was opposite. My mom had super fast births with me and my brothers, 2 weeks early w all of us (12 hours, 3 hours, and I was born in legit 30 min 😂) and my labor was induced at 41+3 and lasted 35ish hours 🙄we’ll see what my second baby has in store for me in 11 weeks!

Not in my experience. My mom’s births we’re very much nothing like mine. 🤷🏼‍♀️

My moms labors were 38 and 13 hours, natural. Mine was 75 hours with no meds then an emergency c-section

No. My mom had some difficult labors. Mine were a breeze. I don’t see how that kind of thing is hereditary

Eh kinda. My mom had a hard time dilating so they winded up making her have c sections. My sisters first labor was 40 hours because she was having the same issue but she refused to have a csection. I guess I’ll find out in 5 months

I dont think so. It is really dependant on your body. My mom was a week late with me and Im going to be giving birth early according to my OB because Ive been dilating and progressing and she is expecting me to go into labor at anytime and Im not even 38 weeks. It also depends on your hips not how they look outside but the inside bone structure plays a big role. Also how much you work out and how healthy you are too.
