Is it better to have your baby in daycare close to work or close to home?!

I work about 40 minutes away from home.

If you have family that can go for emergencies then do close to home. If not do it close to work.

I am the same way. As much as I would love to have her close to me, we decided to have it close to home because of family being able to pick her up if needed, and not having her in the car that long in case if an accident or breakdown etc.

Close to home so it's more convenient on off days

Pros and cons to both. Close to home means less time I'm the car, and multiple caretakers can do drop offs and pick ups. 
Close to work means, at least for me, that I see him more. I get there early and get to play for 15-20 minutes in the morning, and can go visit on my lunch. But drop offs and pick ups are all me, and if I'm sick taking him to daycare will be a hassle etc.

My experience is that having baby in the car that much time every day is tough. Throws off naps (because they often fall asleep in the car) and as they get older can be really boring for baby. I’d vote close to home but it’s a tough call I can see both sides!
