So just like all of you we had two different people come in for paperwork at the hospital. One was for the birth certificate which was filled out and we paid the $12 to have it sent to us in the mail. The other lady was doing the paperwork for the SSN which was also to be mailed to us. Never got anything so I call social security Administration and they say go your nearest office with the proof of birth from the hospital and you can get a new card sent. So I go do this and they say they have no record of him and he has no SSN. So then I go to the vital Records office and they have no birth certificate. So I call the hospital and a lady is on a paper trail trying to find our paperwork on the baby. In the meantime I find out what I have to do it they can’t find. So I’ll need a letter from OB stating when I was pregnant and had a live birth. A letter from the hospital stating pretty much the same to have a birth certificate made. My husband and I both have to go and sign. Then I can file for a SSN for him. So basically my baby doesn’t exist as far as the government is concerned. Such a pain in the ass. Here’s to trying to enjoy my last week and half of leave 😒
