Is he lying?

So - I came across a message in my boyfriend’s phone (wasn’t snooping at all)... To a girl.

She said “hello”.

He said “hola beautiful”.

When I asked him about it, he took his phone, and refused to give it back. Then he said that he was getting his coworkers number since tomorrow is his last day (fine by me). He said this coworker is not attractive & no one looks at her like that. He just said “hello beautiful” I guess for no reason.

What do y’all think? Is he lying?
