Dog rides bus alone to dog park?

I recently saw a older news video about a dog who rides the bus alone to the dog park. The dog has a bus pass on their collar and knows how to get on and off the bus by herself at the right stops. Some people think this is bad dog parenting to let the dog go to the park by herself without the owner. Do you think this is bad dog parenting or fine for the dog to be independent?

My dogs are like my babies and I'd never let them leave the house by themselves lol I'd be worried if someone harms or steals them

I’ve seen the video also, while it is cute, I wouldn’t do it. The dog may be very well behaved but other dogs aren’t. So if another dog starts a fight, someone gets bit, dog gets hurt, etc. the owner would be at a huge fault.

Cute as hell but I'd be very worried about my dog being stolen, attacked by another dog, attacking someone, etc. Many places have leash laws too. Not worth it, no matter how much you trust your dog, it's still an animal.

Super irresponsible. Not good pet parenting at all, imo. What if something happened to the dog? Or what if something went wrong and the dog attacked somebody, or another dog. And who is cleaning up after the dog? If you can't or won't take your dog out, you should not have a dog. I must keep thinking, if it were me, I'd be worried that somebody could take the dog or call animal control, or he could wander somewhere and get hurt, and I'd never know because I was too preoccupied to take him. It isn't like he's a person who can call you for help if something goes wrong or let you know if he's going to be home late. This is not cute. This is mega irresponsible, and the owners should not be allowed to have dogs anymore.

I mean in one sense it's pretty awesome that the owner has trained the dog to know stops etc BUT I would never trust a lone dog, what if he gets agitated and attacks someone or another dog? I think it's really irresponsible of the owner and although we don't know the owners situation they shouldn't be pet owners if they can't take the dog themselves.

I think it depends on the location and the dog - this dog is clearly safe but it wouldn’t be smart to let just any dog loose in any city.  In this case though, I think it’s super adorable.

I've actually seen this article.. And I'm glad someone brought this up.
So aparantly the owner took the dog on thesame bus at thesame time every day. One day somehow he was running late and the dog hopped onto the bus on it's own and got off at the dogpark stop and waited for his owner to come on the next bus. From then on the owner tried it a few times to allow the dog to go to the park by himself and that worked, he'd take thesame bus there and thesame bus back. And as long as the busdrivers were ok with that nobody was going to make it a problem, other commuters were actually looking forward to seeing the dog on the bus.
But I don't think it's responsible at all. I think it's lazy from the owner, I think they spoke of the owner being a young man, and if something, anything, would happen to the dog, like someone may steal it or hurt it,... He wouldn't forgive himself for allowing it to happen...
