ridiculous?

Li

So i’m 17 and 37 weeks pregnant. My midwife has just gone over my birth plan 2 days ago and told me about the side room at the hospital i’m due to give birth at. I didn’t plan to go to this hospital and wouldn’t of went if i had a choice! My midwife says i have to give birth there as the hospital in my town isn’t 24hours and don’t deal with under 18 and pregnant. Anyway so i’ve been told i have to pay £125 for a side room or stay in a hall with other girls by myself with the baby. I live an hour away from this hospital and i do not want to stay on my own as no one drives and we would have to catch a taxi back which was our plan. Is it wrong i’m being charged? for privacy and to have my mother and boyfriend there? I’ve never heard of paying and my friends never had to pay but they went to a different hospital. I don’t want to say to my mum she can’t stay as it’s her first grandson she will meet (she has 7 and never met them) and i can’t say no to my boyfriend as he has just travelled 4 hours to stay with me until baby boy is here and it’s his first child. I also don’t want to be alone and don’t like hospitals. I am willing the pay the price but it’s £125 a night! i feel like i’m staying in a hotel! how long would i stay in the hospital if i have a normal birth? My midwife has said i could be discharged the same day if i give birth early morning or after 24 hours. Thanks girls and i’m in the UK!! Also is it wrong my midwife forced me to give birth there knowing i don’t have much transport and im an hour away and that i have to pay for a night? i’m a shy person and i honestly wouldn’t cope on my own. I’d be fine with the baby but i just generally would start getting upset knowing i’m with people i don’t know and this whole pregnancy i thought my mum and boyfriend would be there
