How many times a day do you feed EBf?

I am looking into starting sleep training and a lot of the schedules have 5 feedings a day. I am currently feeding LO 6x a day, with the last two feedings close ( around 6pm when I get home from work and around 8pm for bedtime). It looks like it maybe best to move bedtime earlier, and eliminate that last feeding, but I worry about baby getting enough. I would appreciate if Anyone would share their experiences!

I just feed on demand, we don’t have a schedule. Sometimes she’s on and off, others she has a longer feed. Usually 3 or 4 longer feeds a day (including one in the night). I wouldn’t worry about baby getting enough if you’re feeding on demand because as they get older they get more efficient at feeding and can drink more milk in less time 👍🏼

My daughter always makes up for it during the day. She normally eats at 6, 9, 12 & 3, 6 & 8. There have been a few days she sleeps through a feeding a daycare and I will be excited to have the extra milk, but she just eats more at home before she goes to bed.

Right now our rough schedule is 7a (nap), 10a, (nap at 11:30a), 1p, (2:30p nap), 4p, 6p (nap), 8p. Now if he seems hungrier earlier I'll feed him then feed him 3 hrs from then (if it's not the last 2 feeds). And if he's tired I'll nap him at a different time. This is the average schedule.

I feed him at 8pm downstairs then do our bedtime routine in his room. But it's quick (changing into pajamas, reading)

My schedule is very similar but I am feeding him to sleep and I think I want to feed then do bedtime things and put him down. Not sure if I should push the feeding to 7:30 so he would eat at 6 then 7:30 or if I should push bedtime later so that he’s going to sleep closer to 9 😫

Does he go to sleep after the 8pm feeding?

On demand. I'd say roughly 8 times a day

Baby will make up for it during the day. I was worried about this too cause my son was eating 32-35 oz a day, than when I sleep trained, he dropped 2 middle of the night feeds but he makes up for it and still eats the same amount.

Thank you! I was worried maybe I would make less if I dropped the feeding but it sounds like maybe I’ll just make more each feeding if that’s what he needs!

It’s different day to say. Sometimes 5, sometime 7. Sometimes when she’s teething she just wants a comfort snack for a few min. I personally wouldn’t adjust our feeding according to what someone else says. Every baby is different and has different needs🤷🏼‍♀️

Honestly I lose track because I feed on demand so it kind of depends on the rhythm of our day. but the other day I counted and it was 8
