Rapid Labor

Jessica

I woke up at about 5 AM and knew I was going to go into labor that day. I was having irregular contractions. So I Started packing the rest of our things and filling up the cat and dogs food bowl, my friend would come over to take care of our animals while we would be at the hospital. 7am hits and I called my dad, my contracts were stronger and closer together, we get checked into the hospital at 8am I'm at a 3 I have been at a 3 for 2 weeks now, so they tell me they will check me in an hour to make sure I was progressing, at 9am I'm at a 4 so they start the admitting process I had asked for an epidural, I was in a lot of pain and they were waiting for the Dr orders to come in so they could start the IV, give me antibiotics for the strep B, and give me an epidural, so for the next hour and a half, give or take, the pain is getting worse and it's like I am constantly screaming in pain my husband is asking the nurses what is taking so long finally around 10:15am they come in and try to start my IV and I told the nurse I felt like I had to pee again, I stand up and my husband is helping me to the bathroom and I get 2 steps away from the bed and my water breaks all over my husband leg, lol I tell the nurse I feel like I have to poop and she tells me to get back in bed and not push but you can't help it I pushed I got back in bed and pushed against she checked me and I was fully dialiated she is getting the Dr all the while telling me not to push, and I push again and baby girl's head is out on this push by the time the Dr comes around I had already dilivered her shoulders and the Dr helped me dilivered the rest of her a perfectly healthy baby girl. The next baby we have I don't plan on getting an epidural it wasn't as bad as I thought and I feel I can handle it again.
