Palpitations?

Ive seen a few post on here but I would like to know if anyone is going through that and what they did for relief. Did you get checked out? Any blood works done?

Im actually at my primary care now. Like u said, it doesn't hurt but its uncomfortable. I wanna make sure it's nothing serious

I have them even when I am not pregnant but the pregnancy hormones definitely make it worse! They were horrendous for a month and I have a holter monitor on now but thankfully they have calmed down over the last week. Drinking Gatorade or vitamin water helped and magnesium! I’m on a beta blocker but was on that before hand as well. Just make sure you stay hydrated and rest when needed!

Me too it kinda feels like I’m having an anxiety attack. My heart beats soooo fast for a few minutes that I have to lay down and try to calm myself.

I have had them pretty often during pregnancy and it was really bad the other day where every time I stood it would start up. I had EKG done and bloodwork. Everything came back normal. She said if it continues more before my next appointment to let her know and she could refer me to a cardiologist .

I had an ekg, a holter monitor, and an echo done. The ekg showed my heart rhythm was off sometimes but everything else was normal. Doc gave me a beta blocker (I also have high bp) and that solved the problem! I still get them here and there but not nearly as bad and scary as they were!!

I've always had them, pregnant or not. I think msg is a trigger for me, at least during pregnancy so I'm trying to stay away from foods that might have it. Salt and other things can also trigger them so they looking at when they start and what you ate. Perhaps keep a food journal to help.

I always get them during pregnancy. Making sure my iron levels are good bc that can contribute but it’s also normal with hormones. I try not to think about them when they start and that helps by increasing your anxiety only makes it worse

You could be anemic. I went in for the flu and was told they couldn’t get my heart rate down and I was in Tachycardia. They were going to admit me at first but they made me get an ekg and bloodwork done and it turns out I was just anemic. They gave me iron pills and my heart rate went from 120s-140s down to 70s-90s

I've always had them. One trick to get them to stop when they are bothering you, and your PCP will tell you the same is to do the valsalva maneuver. Basically bearing down like you are going to poop. It causes a transient increase in thoracic pressure which triggers your baroreceptor reflex and can sort of reset your heart beat. It doesn't ALWAYS work but it usually does and it isn't harmful

I’m having palpitations too. Sometimes pretty bad and they don’t hurt but really freak me out. I haven’t done anything or found any solutions yet but am curious to see if anyone else has.
