Allergies
I posted in mid January about my sons skin. We took him to his 12 month well baby check and they referred us to an allergist because he has eczema that would most likely be related to allergies. SO he had his appointment with his referred allergist today. Turns out he is allergic to eggs, nuts, soy, and cats and dogs! His first pediatrician told me he had a milk allergy and switched him to a SOY based formula! Im so glad I ended up changing his pediatrician because the first one shrugged off all of his skin problems and said “it’s just eczema, apply aquaphor to it”. When we went to the new pediatrician the first thing she did was assess his skin and actually took it seriously! She immediately said they were gonna refer us to an allergist because eczema, allergies and asthma are usually linked, which I did not know! And it’s a very good thing we went and found out he’s allergic to nuts and not actually allergic to dairy because since his first pediatrician said he has a milk allergy we’ve been giving him almond milk. Now we can actually give him regular whole milk!
His back before applying the steroid cream his doctor prescribed
You can kind of see how dry his legs are, his skin would be EXTREMELY dry and no amount of lotion or cream helped
