Raising child bilingual

Sara

My husband is british and I’m Belgian, my native language is Flemish. We live in Belgium so our daughter will be exposed to Flemish a lot through nursery, school, my family,... at home we speak English because my husband doesn’t speak Flemish. I read though that the best way to raise a child bilingual is if each parent speaks one language consistently. At the moment I find myself switching all the time an I’m worried I’ll just confuse her? Is anyone else raising their child bilingual and how do you do it? Also, do you find they’re confused in the beginning about the different languages or do they understand pretty early on when to use which language?
