Thankful for the flu shot

Holly • Momma to Luca (Jun ‘19) & Bella (Jun ‘21)

Our pediatrician confirmed yesterday Luca has flu type A (the more severe and contagious type). He is on Tamiflu and alternating Tylenol and Motrin and is actually doing well, all things considered. His fever is low, he slept through the night, and he is eating almost as much as normal. He’s even playing! I’m really thankful he was old enough to have had both doses of the flu vaccine before getting sick, otherwise he likely would be faring a LOT worse. I know some will note that a perfect flu shot would have prevented him from getting sick altogether- and I agree of course- but I think our drug/vaccine community has done a good job considering how early they need to start manufacturing vaccines each season and how little data they have to go on. So if you’re on the fence, please have your babies vaccinated!
