Is it true that since I'm overweight I'm more likely to have a c section???

I'm getting super freaked out about this! I want to do vaginal birth!

I don’t believe so. My midwife specializes in overweight pregnancies (she is the only one in the area that accepts overweight clients), and she has never had a client end up having to have a c-section in her 34 years of practice. She has had some end up going to the hospital because of prolonged labors, but never have any had to have a c-section.

Statistics are higher for issues like gestational diabetes and preeclampsia when you're overweight. But being at higher risk doesn't mean that's what's going to happen. Plenty of overweight women have vaginal births.

The girl I worked with was literally almost 300lbs but she was very tall and delivered naturally. She did amazing and had no complications
