Second opinion?

Today I went for my 28 week pregnancy check up and the doctor said There was a lot of bacteria in my urine. I felt like I had symptoms of BV. But he said he was going to prescribe me antibiotics for a UTI. I don’t have any uti symptoms no burning when I pee. I’m not sure if I should just take the antibiotics or go back to the doctor and see if they can check again to make sure I’m getting treated for the right infection?

You could have a UTI even if theres no burning sensation when you pee. Happened to me when I was pregnant and ended up with a kidney infection s. . A urine sample won’t be able to detect bacterial vaginosis so if there was bacteria present in your urine you likely have a UTI . Bacterial vaginosis however can trigger UTIs so you can have both

Take the antibiotics, you have a UTI. Instead of just questioning your doctor and wanting to go against his advice look into it a little first, while pregnant some women never feel the classic symptoms.

Meds for uti’s are safe for pregnancy and prescribed often. I am prone to uti’s, only symptom I get is frequently peeing then to the extreme pain when it got to my bladder once. You don’t want it to get to your bladder or kidneys

The antibiotic should cure whatever bacteria in your urine i would like to hope that their not just giving you anything im sure they have tested to for uti and thats why he said hes giving you something for it

I have had UTIs that I didn’t have any symptoms for until I was doubled over in pain and ended up admitted to the hospital but if I’m being honest I would go for a second opinion because it never hurts to be sure
