Baby going more than 3 hrs to eat

So my little girl is 3 weeks old, the past two nights she's been eating at around 9, not falling asleep until near 11 but then she won't wake in time to eat at her 3-4hr mark of 12-1am. Which I don't really blame her if she's not falling asleep until an hour before that feeding mark. I've been wiping her with a cold rag to wake her so she will eat but I was just wondering if it was something anyone else experienced?

If your baby is above their birth weight and is producing a good amount of wet and dirty nappies you dont need to wake them :)

I would honestly leave her. She will not starve herself and she will wake when she is hungry. She is learning the difference between day and night time which is great at this stage. She will eat more in the day and less at night, so get that sleep in! My girl is 4 weeks old and last night she went from 1am until 6:30am which has never happened before. She probably would've made it until 7am but my boobs was to full lol!

She is above her birth weight, she normally ends up doing 2oz around 6pm-7pm and then another 2oz around 8 or 9pm and then she does this sleeping habit 😅 I was debating calling her pediatrician to ask about it. She's hard to wake when she does this.

My doctor said to let them sleep especially at night as long as they are gaining. No need to force a schedule if their weight is healthy. She'll wake to eat when she needs to. My newborn (less than two weeks) has gone 4 and 5 hour stretches at night sometimes. Literally he wouldn't wake for me so I asked my doctor and they said he's perfectly fine. Just needs a bit more sleep.

I am so jealous! My baby is over a month old and he still feeds every 1.5 or 2 hrs. I wish he sleeps longer...

During the day she usually does eat about every 1.5 -3 hrs I guess she eats enough during the day that it helps her at night.

Never wake a sleeping baby is the number one rule of motherhood 😂😉 jk, but really if they are above birth weight I say just leave them

When I had my youngest we slept for a solid 8 hours in the hospital. 3 of my babies only woke about once (except cluster feedings) in a 8 hour time frame to feed at night. Its totally normal :)
