Experience with cervidil ?

I’m getting induced at 39 weeks using Cervidil. Has anyone’s doctor used cervidil to induce their  labor and what was the experience like ?

They shove it way up in there lol I had 3 rounds of it and I never progressed

The contractions get pretty uncomfortable, but getting in the tub helps ALOTTTT!

I had cervidil put in early morning (a bit of a sharp pinch going in there, like a tampon that’s shoved extra far up) then started contractions about 4 hours later. By next morning when they took it out, I was 3cm and had been having contractions every 5-17 minutes the whole night 😝 sent home, a few hours later my water broke on its own, went to hospital, still 3cm so pitocin and epidural around 5, full 10cm by 9, started pushing at 9:50, baby born 10:08 ☺️

Cervidil was the only thing that put me into labor. I got it at 8pm and contractions started (at 5mins apart) exactly at midnight

I had one round (1/4 of a pill) and that’s all I needed for my induction! Never received pitocin or anything else and labor progressed really great! Came in at 9:30 am on a Monday and baby girl was born around 2:30 am the next day

Worked great for me, it doesn't feel good when they're inserting it though. Had it placed at 6pm and my water broke at 3am!

Ummm it hurt getting put in, worse then my whole labor and pushing the baby out 😂

Yup! That’s what they used to start my induction. I never ended up needing pitocin. So I went in at 8am, they gave it to me around 9ish. Monitored me and baby band sent us home around 10am. Told us to come back around 6pm if n water hadn’t broken by then. Got in the car and 20 mins later, water broke in the front seat lol contracts went from 0-100 really quick and were coming every 30 seconds or so. I  Ha day daughter at 9:18pm the same day

I had cervidil when I was induced with my daughter. About five hours after having it taken out, my water broke a few minutes before my doctor came in to break it haha. Also, not long after having it inserted, the doctor who inserted it came in asking if I could the contractions I apparently was having (I couldn’t.)

It did nothing for me with my first. My dr ended up having to break the water herself with a hook thing that’s when labor progressed along with pitocin.
