Is this my mucus plug? I am having what I though were Braxton Hicks but my back is also hurting today. 
How long before labour?

I don’t think that’s your mucus plug. You may want to go get checked out. I had bleeding like that at 39+4 and they couldn’t figure out where the blood was coming from so they induced. Prayers for safe delivery for baby and momma and all healthy!

I’d keep an eye on your back ache, does it come in waves, is it super low like in your bum?  That’s back labour if it’s super low and rhythmic waves of pain. Time them!  I had more back pain than contraction pain before the transition stage with my first.
