i had my cervix checked last thursday. i was 35 weeks 2 days. nothing hurt and did not have ANY cramping after. i was not dilated at all and 50% effaced that day.

today i’m 35 weeks 6 days. i had my 36 week appointment today l, early, because the doctor is off the rest of the week. i also had an ultrasound for growth. the ultrasound tech was pushing so hard on my belly to get a good view of their heads because their heads are both soooooo low. like right on top of each other on my cervix. then i got checked and was 70% effaced today and 1cm dilated. doctor said cervix is very soft, anterior and she ran right into it today, unlike last week when she had to move around under the babies head to feel it.

okay so my question is this, how normal is it to cramp all day long after a cervical check? i got it done around 8:00AM and it’s 4:00PM now. the cramps hurt soooo bad. it’s almost like a shooting/stabbing pain.it lasts about 30-45 seconds. when it happens i can hardly breathe through it and have to squeeze my eyes shut to focus on it. this never happened with my first pregnancy. could it be contractions or just cramps???
