Odd question

When my mother was pregnant with me and my sister (4 years apart) she said when she would take pregnancy test it wouldn’t ever show positive and that she’d always have to go to the doctors to confirm when she had suspicions about being pregnant could this possibly be genetic? Because I’m having every symptom?? I just want to know if anyone else has had this experience or know anyone?
