I have been at my job for almost 2 years now , never been in trouble for anything . It’s a small franchised bakery . Ever since the owner found out I was pregnant I went from 50 hours to 35-45 and 45 is being generous . When I was hired it was mandatory that I work 45 hours and that managers are allowed to get up to 50 hours if they wanted . My general manager who I am close with was texting me the one day while we were discussing it and she had told me that he told her that he cut my hours bc I was pregnant and I’m a liability so he needed to have someone else on with me , so my hours would have to be cut . my pregnancy is low risk and this job is not physically demanding . I am usually here by myself as we are a super slow store . The owner of this store was just sued for negligence by another former manager and is completely just a narcissist who doesn’t take responsibility for anything . My gm is now quitting and said she would testify for me but I don’t have the money to even hire a lawyer let alone lose my job for this but it’s frustrating when I’m not making enough money and I have a baby coming in a few months 😢
