Cervix length is 3cm?

Question

I’m nearly 25 weeks and went to my hospital as I felt less movements and had cramping.
They checked her over everything is fine. They said my cervix length is 3 cm which I have no idea what this means really!
Can anyone explain x

Average pregnant cervical length is anywhere between 4cm and 2.5cm. Anything below 2.5cm is considered short. Shortening of the cervix and cervical effacement are the same thing. For example I lost a baby due to incompetent cervix at 20+3. At 19+5 my cervical length was 1.9cm and by 20 it was 1.5cm and 1cm dilated. 
Sorry for rambling. So a cervical length of 3cm is perfect and ideal!

At 27&4 my cervix was 2.3 and then down to 2.0 at 28&2. They are checked it again Wednesday at 32&2, so I would think yours seems okay.
