update: thanks everyone! i just went and bought a new car seat. i was already pretty set on getting a new one once i smelled the car pee wasn’t out but thanks for all the advice and about the straps. just picked up the new one from target :)

so we’re using my daughters infant car seat for one of our boys. we bought the same kind as a second one since we’re having twins. the one that was my daughters, we sorred in the basement. well we used to have a cat and he wasn’t fixed so he sprayed and peed in the basement. and i guess he did on the car seat. i took the whole entire thing apart, straps and all, let it soak in detergent and baking soda and vinegar (something i saw on facebook) and then i washed it again in the washer with baby detergent. i still feel like the smell is faintly there. is there any way for me to for sure get the smell out of the fabric 😭 if i can’t get it out i’m definitely just buying a whole new car seat but i’m running out of time. i’m 36 weeks and they can come any day now 😭
