Does your newborn hate having a bath? Mine does

Question

My 4 week old absolutely hates the bath and screams the entire time. We have tried making the bathroom warm and steamy before bringing him in and also laying a warm wet washcloth on his chest while bathing him but nothing seems to help. He also dislikes being naked in general. Will this improve with time? I want the bath time to be apart of a relaxing bedtime routine but now it is the exact opposite!

Mine loves the actual bath but screams bloody murder once he's taken out until he is dressed again. He hates being naked and any kind of diaper/clothes change

Use a thermometer to make sure it’s not too hot or cold. I wrap my son in a little hooded towel and put him in the tub with it on, and unravel it as I go so that it decreases the shock of the water. It’ll probably get better over time. My brothers hated the tub and acted the same as your child the first few times, but it got better.

The game changer for us was not only the warm wash cloths on his belly, but one of us has to constantly be pouring the warm water over his chest as well. Babies can get cold really quickly and that’s why he would fuss. But now he sits there and enjoys it.

She loves being naked. I let her sit in between diaper changes with her diaper open. She just hangs out. The tub she initially fussed but then looks around. She has to have a full belly though. After about 10 minutes in tub she’s had enough. Almost like she’s in a trance

Maybe try showering with baby? Mine is slowly getting used to baths, she only fusses now mostly, but she seemed to enjoy having a shower with me

My 1st loves baths and being naked but was born during the summer. My 2nd Hayes being naked and hates bath time and diaper changes. When I have bathed with him he has not cried so maybe try that.

My son also screamed bloody murder at bath time. He outgrew around the time he could sit up on his own, splash and play with toys. 
When he was tiny, I got into the bath with him. It helped a lot.

My boy screamed the first few baths. But I think I’ve finally got a good water temp figured out. I wouldn’t say he enjoys it but he no longer outright hates it

My son, now 3, was the same way and baby #2 is similar.  I can say they definitely outgrow it and then go through various stages of a love/hate relationship with them in general 🤦‍♀️
