Can I be induced?

I’m almost 35 weeks. My dr said due to how much excess fluid I have, it could make me go early, but I’m okay as long as I make it to 36 weeks.

My question is, can I be induced or does there have to be a bigger medical reason?

My extra fluid measures me 7-8 weeks ahead so I am HUGE already. There is so much pressure from all the fluid I can barely walk, and the back pain doesn’t help that either.

I’ve been having Braxton Hicks regularly, and I just don’t see how my belly can get any bigger. I am so stretched.

So I was wondering if they can induce me for those reasons, or will they make me wait until baby is ready.

They could possibly induce you even though it’s not medically necessary. With my first I chose to be induced at 39 weeks because my husband whose in the military was only able to be home for a few days and we really wanted him to be able to witness the birth of his first child. My doctor worked with us so there is always a possibility your doctor would work with you. No harm in asking!

I was told it changed a while ago from 37 to 39. I could definitely be wrong though!

Forgot to mention, I doubt they will induce you before 39 weeks since a baby is not considered full term until then now.

I had polyhydramnios (too much amniotic fluid) with my youngest son where I had 41 cm of amniotic fluid when I went into labor naturally at 38+6 but if I hadn’t my doctor was going to induce during my 39th week because it made me high risk

Doctors won’t induce you unless it’s medically necessary!

Unless baby or you are in danger they’re not going to induce you before 39 weeks. You’ll just have to wait it out.
