so it’s mardi gras season and that means parades and drinking and all the good things that come. last night my boyfriend went to the parades earlier than my friends and i did and when i finally met up with him it was quite a bit later. he and i walked around and chatted with people for a while and while trying to find my friends, whom i was going home with, we ended up a couple blocks away from where the crowd of people we know were. so my boyfriend and i are on a corner i’m very drunk and trying to find my friends (who had gone to someone’s house to use the bathroom unbeknownst to me) and my boyfriend tells me that he has to go because his ride was there to pick him up so they could go to a bar. he asked me if it was okay and i told him that i wasn’t going to make him stay if he didn’t want to so he left. and i was alone on the corner of a crowded area, drunk out of my mind and still had not located my friends.

am i right to be upset? it hurt that he would leave me in a situation like that just because he didn’t want to keep his friend waiting before they went to a bar. i may be over reacting but it made me feel very unsafe and sad.
