I just noticed my daughter with this and she also has it red does anybody know y this happens

It's a clogged tear duct. My daughter has the same thing. Use a warm wash rag and massage in by the nose. Also you can use breast milk if you are breastfeeding.  It seemed to really help my daughter.

My dr said it’s clogged tear ducts. Totally normal and it’ll go away on its own in a few days or weeks. 
I just woke her eyes with a warm washcloth when they get goopy

My daughter also has it, the doctor told me it was pink eye 🙄 but that was 2 weeks ago and it still happens, I figured it was a blocked tear duct and that’s what I’m still guessing it is, it doesn’t look like pink eye. I just keep wiping it with a warm cloth

Since we left the hospital with our little she has had that in both eyes. Pediatrician said to massage in a downwards motion on both sides of the nose with a warm rag or cotton ball. After two weeks it didn’t clear up, so she prescribed erythromycin. It helped clear up the booger’s and almost seems soothing to her eyes. Now every other day they become like this. She’s 6 weeks now and I took her to get a second opinion with an eye doctor. Same response. Blocked tear ducts can last up to a year old. Nothing more you can do. Super frustrating, but everything is normal.

My baby had this when he was born. The Dr. prescribed erythromycin for his eye and it resolved. Like the replies said a blocked duct.
