Went in for my routine appointment at 35+4 and my dr said I'm 1 1/2 centimeters dilated and 50%. Does this mean labor is close? It just seems early to me to already be dilating.

No you can be dilated for weeks before going into labor. I was at 2cm at 35, 3 at 36 and 4 at 37 and didnt deliver until 38 and 3
