2 credit cards....

Posted yesterday about my SO not being approved for a credit card from our EECU bank was even sent a denied email so we went ahead and applied for a secured card from discover which he was approved and now this morning he got an approval email from eecu for a $500 limit card so now we are expecting a $200 limit card from discover on top of the other one should we cancel one or should we keep both to help his credit score I should mention he applied twice for eecu in the same day both said denied
