Have you been tested yet??

Question

Today I got tested for GBS , I've never heard of this before, left me a little unease,  anyone know about this?

I tested positive my first pregnancy and was so scared when I had found out because in my mind I compared it to an STD which is far from the case.
I was given an IV of antibiotics when I was in labor and that was it!
No big deal!

Very standard. Also very common to test positive & it's an easy fix with antibiotics when you go into labor, so if you do test positive, don't worry. Some people have it in their digestive tract & this (giving birth) is basically the only situation where it's an issue.

All it is is a swab. It's routine. If you are negative, cool. If you are positive, they give you profilactive antibiotics so you don't risk passing it on to the baby.

My midwife informed me about it. It’s standard  to get tested for it. Really not a big deal
