Gallbladder removed?

Hello! I will be having surgery to remove my gallbladder soon. I'm nervous about the surgery and very nervous about how to be a mom while recovering. Has anyone had surgery/this experience and has some thoughts to share? Thanks!

I had it done when my son was a month old! It was quick and wasn’t too bad after. My boyfriend picked up my slack for about a week and it hasn’t affected my life in any other ways. I still eat like I used too

I had this when my son was about eight months. I couldn’t hold him very well for the first day or two, but it wasn’t so bad after if I held him on my hip (not towards my tummy). It was also easier if I didn’t have to pick him up off the floor while I was standing. The day of the surgery, I was very tired and slept most of the day. 
I got the surgery Friday, so my husband was home Saturday and Sunday. Then my mom helped me get him to daycare Monday and I went back to work Tuesday. Take it slow and stay up on pain meds! 
I thought I was a tough guy and didn’t take the prescription meds. I was also breast feeding and was sick of pumping and dumping. So I ended up in the ER because the pain was so terrible. Keep them up every so often as recommended, even if you think you feel fine. 
My surgeon explained that pregnancy and childbirth tend to lead to gallbladder problems!

I got mine out when my baby was 3 months old, I couldn’t nurse him the first day because it hurt but I nursed him the second day. I couldn’t do anything by myself for the first 3 days needed help using the restroom. If you have a recliner chair that was the best place to sleep in because didn’t require so much strength to get up. I had my husband stay home with me for 5 days and my mom came to help me for two days. I also had a 3 year old so I needed more help. The worst is the pain where they cut you and not being able to do much for the first 3 days. After a week I felt like myself still took it easy though. Getting it out is totally worth it if your having those horrible pains because of the stones. Good luck

Thank you all!! I am hoping to have the surgery while my husband is on a work break. My parents have offered to come to town, also. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
