How would you approach this situation?

So my MIL has been giving my 10 month old straight apple juice and it has caused some funky bowel movements. I don’t think I’d mind if she’d asked me first so I could remind her that it needs to be diluted but nope, just straight up juice in his bottle. How would you ask her to stop? Our relationship is great, never had any issues but I HATE confrontation on any level and was wondering how I should approach this.

Just let her know that it’s messing up his insides, and that for his health, he needs to have just water or whatever you want. It doesn’t need to be personal, it’s just a fact.

Oh my I would be furious. I'd probably be so pissed I'd say she's done watching the babe.i don't understand how someone can give your baby sth without checking in to see if it's okay. That would never even cross my mind🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

Just tell her. It’s not a confrontation unless you make it one. You can just say “thanks episode much for all the help with making the baby bottles and caring for him. Unfortunately we noticed the apple juice is causing some tummy problems so we can’t give it to him anymore. Water is just fine though!”

I wouldn’t be giving your baby any juice at this age . It has no benefits for them ..:( . I barely give my almost 3 yr old juice . I would inform her right away. Do it for the health of your baby . When it comes to my children i do not care who feeling I am hurting because the safety and health of my children come first . If you guys have a good relationship she should understand and respect you and your wishes .

I would not be happy at all. That stuff is so full of sugar. Just be upfront with her. You can start with a complement like “I really appreciate you helping me care for (insert your child’s name)!” Then tell her you don’t want her to do that in a nice way. End the convo with another compliment. I did this to my interns at work. I call it a compliment sandwich lol
