Too late to breast feed?

I didn’t want to breastfeed and I was letting my milk dry up. I had my daughter 7 days ago. My boobs got really hard but it’s since gone down, but they’re still leaking milk. I think it would be beneficial for her eating issues and such since she’s in the NICU for me to breastfeed her. 
Is it too late to try?

Its not too late! Try pumping or hand expressing too to get your supply back.

Ask the nicu nurse to have lactation come visit you because you want to give it a try.  They’ll set you up with a hospital grade pump and work with you :)

Definitely not too late! Pumping will bring your supply up but her stomach is tiny so her needs per feeding won't be much. It might be worth it to ask a lactation consultant or the nurses about her needs so you don't create an oversupply.

As long as you have milk, you can get your supply up! It’s going to be tough work but pump every 2-3 hours for a couple of weeks to get your supply going. Eat lots of oatmeal, lactation cookies/brownies, coconut water (body armor works great too), and of course stay hydrated. Good luck!
